also known as supplied air respirator. A respirator that is connected by a hose to a stationary source of compressed breathing air. The air is delivered continuously or intermittently in a sufficient volume to meet the wearer's breathing requirements. The user is restricted by the length of the hose and is vulnerable to damage to the hose.
